Liz The Music Manager :
Remember to collaborate early in your songwriting career, even if you prefer writing solo. It’s one of the best ways to grow your craft, learn new techniques, and build meaningful connections along the way! Network!!! 💯💯💯

Phil Collins spoke very highly of Stephen in his memoir; was very cool to hear about their crossing paths from his perspective

your right for the general public but there's some politics involved and look at Thomas Rhett !! if his father didn't introduce him to the industry he would be sitting with the rest of us !!

That’s not luck. It’s where talent, effort, and networking intersect.

You mentioned the Dropbox link. If there’s unpublished songs on there, any advice on how to vet who’s safe/unsafe to send those songs to?

An anthology of “How This Song Got Famous” is due. This won’t happen today…but a most incredible story I’ve ever heard is how, in the 80s, a waiting-for-break songwriter actually broke into a studio where he knew a major artist was recording. He brought his cassette demo and just left it in the presumed suite — and snuck out again. The demo got heard. A deal for the song ensued. It became MONSTER! He fully lived off the residuals for years. No names here…to protect the innocent(ly ambitious/ingenioys/resourceful). PS: great post…but perhaps needed 3 more words in the narrative…”your crazy PASSION (as a songwriter/artist)”…?

Six years, wow. I would’ve assumed artists are constantly seeking out new writers and material to keep their music and sound evolving.

Stephen‘s voice is probably one of the smoothest voices I’ve ever heard. His tone is dreamy. The fact he’s a talented songwriter also—-I’m surprised it took him six years

imagine a club where you say a password and then you enter a room with 3 doors and only 1 door will be open but it's a different door for different passwords. and the doors don't even look like doors, mirrors, bookshelves, paintings, fireplaces can all be doors
