as someone who’s been on both ends of this. in my experience it really had a lot to do with my own selfishness to have the cake and eat it while also internally it had always been a fear of commitment, to put everything into something without certainty of outcome is something that scares many of us, and is something that many will never be able to escape, not that they don’t deserve love but they definitely need a reality check of accepting if they can’t grow, accept the risks, and go for it anyways things will always end up sour in the end. time will pass regardless if you put your best foot forward or hide from your insecurities so it’s better off learning to go through it, even if it means you’ll lose it all. because you’ll lose it had you not tried anyways
