As an engineer. Planes would never be able to take off if it had to carry so much weight (fuel) in its wings. The wings would simply snap off

I've worked on aircraft as a sheet metal mechanic in the service and as a civilian. Military and commercial and have even been in the wings to do repairs where the fuel bladder is located (in the wings). After working on 15 different aircraft, I can assure you that they all use jet fuel. Someone in this comment thread even spells out that fuel is measured in lbs. and that 38,000 lbs. is about 5,671 gallons which is 6 to 7 lbs. per gallon. It's easy to get caught up in the hype isn't it. 😉

I’m an aircraft fueler and yes he’s right I do get paid for nothing I go connect nozzles and coupler to planes and stand there for a 20 or 30mins scrolling on my phone 😂

They measure jet fuel in pounds. So 38000 pounds of fuel translates to 5671.64 gallons of fuel. Hope this helps. 👍

Alright, let’s clear this up real quick because I keep seeing this take and it’s just flat-out wrong. On an A380 we’re not talking about a small amount of fuel. This is the largest passenger aircraft ever built. Total fuel capacity is about 84,000+ US gallons. Now here’s the part people are arguing about: Each wing holds roughly 34,000 to 36,000 gallons of jet fuel. Not a guess..that’s based on the actual tank volumes inside the wings. The rest is stored in center and trim tanks inside the fuselage. So yeah...tens of thousands of gallons per wing is 100% real and it makes sense when you think about it...This aircraft can carry 500–800 passengers and fly 15+ hours nonstop across oceans. That kind of range requires a massive amount of fuel. There’s no magic trick, no “hoax" just physics, engineering and very large fuel tanks built into the wings. Aircrafts don’t fake fuel. Jet engines burn it...continuously..for the entire flight. So if someone’s saying “that’s impossible,” they’re underestimating just how big these planes actually are.

how big an a380 wing is btw. I work an aircraft maintenance and can assure you these wings carry just as much fuel as they say they do.

so if u convert 38000gallons to pound's u have 255,000pounds cause fuel weights 6.71pounds per gallon that's a lot of weight now u have two wings there is no way the plan could get off the ground do the math it doesn't lie
