I’m 63 and a young man ( barely 21) carded me with apologies. I told him to never apologize for doing your job correctly and made sure the manager knew what a great job he did on top of a generous tip

In Utah they have to take the id and physically scan it before the computer will even allow them to serve you

I have my ID easily accessible when ordering alcohol. At 47, I'm clearly over 21 and I don't get carded most of the time, but I'm not about to give someone a hard time for doing their job.

One time at a pizza place I got carded for ordering a marghertia pizza. I was like.. sorry, what? They apparently didn’t get orders for that often and didn’t know it was on the menu. It was a good laugh.

also I know Michigan will not sell alcohol to anyone with an expired license/id. I think that’s wild but it’s true. So I know servers who check everyone for just that reason.

In some States it’s the law that servers and anywhere you purchase alcohol you have to show ID.
