Under UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) rules, 249g drones (sub-250g) are considered low-risk, allowing flight closer to people and in built-up areas. As of 2026, if the drone has a camera, you must obtain a Flyer ID and an Operator ID. They must always be flown within visual line of sight and below 400ft (120m).
