@wanderlustivy: I almost walked past this… and it ended up being one of the most meaningful souvenirs I got in Japan 🇯🇵 While walking through the Fushimi Inari gates in Kyoto, I found a small shop where you can purchase one of these mini gates. The woman then carefully handwrites everything, purifies it, blesses it, and gives it to you to take home. What I thought would be a simple souvenir turned into something so personal and something I’ll keep forever. It felt like I brought a piece of this sacred place back home with me. It’s moments like this that remind me why I love traveling ✨ I definitely recommend you stop by during your hike up Mt. Inari. I did this. My daughter is fluent in Japanese and did the writings. And we use it as a ornament. I collect ornaments from all over the world.
