@reformedacres: The BEST trick for moving the chicken tractor with chickens inside is brought to you by @Kalmbach Feeds who is sponsoring this video! I've tried many different brands of feed, so you can trust me when I say that this is our absolute favorite feed for our chickens...and our dairy cow, too! We are currently using the 18% Start Right Chick Feed, and will switch to their layer feed when the chicks are a bit bigger. ☺️ So, how do we move the chicken tractor without all the chickens escaping out from under it?? Taking away the feed at night is key! This works incredibly well for meat birds, baby chicks, and even bigger egg layers who have decided to escape when you move the chicken tractor. 😅 Just remove the feed at night & introduce it in the front of the chicken tractor right when you are ready to move it in the morning. This simple step makes a HUGE difference! Make sure to check to see if your local feed store has Kalmbach Feeds in stock! They probably do, and even if they don't, most will be happy to order it for you! 🐔 . . #babychicks #backyardchickens #homesteading #chickencoop #chickentractor

Alternatively, you could attach a flexible tarp made of rubber or a similar material to the bottom of the chicken tractor. This would automatically seal the gap when the tractor is lifted, preventing the chickens from escaping.

I honestly wanna start owning my own chickens for eggs, because I have dietary needs and alot of supermarket eggs have hormones in that I cant have, ive also switched to wild meat which I know in America might not be so reliable but in my country the wild animals live their life wild and breed naturally and are protected from people, and then you can pay to go shoot your own deer(bok) and then you can take it home, no hormones or anything and that works much better for my dietary needs but its so expensive, so would it be worth it to get a few chickens just for eggs so I can still get protein in without risking the hormones that are in supermarkets.
