Did this child see a pediatrician on a regular basis? Did this child ever see a cardiologist? A cardiologist would have recognized any type of heart problems, or defects that a normal pediatric doctor would not catch. There are warning labels on the energy drink. Both doctors would have told parents and child do not drink energy drinks.

This is a really sad and tragic story however to point the finger and assign blame on either Alani or the parents or the young lady is a moot point at best. Since this is now being tried in the court of public opinion, maybe people should use this as a starting point to put restrictions in age limits on energy drinks.

My teenager drank an energy drink in high school and stated having palpitations and never again. 🤷🏻‍♀️

That’s part of the problem today—too many parents don’t really know what their kids are doing anymore. At the same time, a lot of teenagers act like they’ve already got everything figured out. That combination can lead to real consequences. This should be a wake-up call. Parents need to be more present, more aware, and more accountable. Too often, instead of taking responsibility, they shift the blame onto others—the companies, schools, social media, or outside influences—when in reality, it starts at home.
