I hate the rhetoric that RE4 OG's controls were designed to "build tension". no they weren't, tank controls were a technical limitation of the time it wasn't a design choice. RE4 gives you limited control over the character so they made the enemies slow, not aggressive and easy to dodge and kill. in RE4R you have a dynamic movement system which allows them to make the enemies way more aggressive and difficult to avoid

Sutch a bad take. Not being able to turn around doesnt build tension its just clunky id argue it takes away from the experience with the goofy controls and camera. The remakes are 10x as scary not even due to better graphics but its easier to put yourself into the world when the game is less clunky.

I mean theres no point in getting pissy over other people's preferences I personally am not huge on the re4 controls as the behind the shoulder + tank control combo makes me nauseous whilst tank controls and fixed camera doesn't and neither does modern style controls. its entirely up to preference and re4 05 is available everywhere anyways so its not like its a replacement either

I find it laughable that the OG RE4 is described as having tank controls 😂. These same people have clearly never played the OG trilogy and REmake

There is absolutely nothing wrong with tank controls. Obviously if you are a young gamer, didn’t grow up with it, it would be weird. Just might take a bit of getting used to

Doesn't really build tension, re5 is built similar... Its a technical limitation, and thats fine. I like re4 og, but I understand people's frustrations with the controls, same with fixed camera angles in of re1-3

the controls in re4 are built around the game perfectly. the remake took things from tlou and made the game unbalanced and the difficulties are also not well made

How about… both are great. Re4R has some of the best combat I’ve played with its parry system. OG is a classic I’ve played dozens of times. Both slap.
