3.8 is the sweet spot for my with restaurants & books for exactly this reason People deduct stars for the most random reason but the core of the experience is still good enough to leave more than 1 or 2 stars

P.F. Chang's used to be awesome. they used to give you good portion sizes and tasted great. Now they've only raised the prices and lowered the portion sizes.

I lived with a British/Chinese girl in University and she told us the rules. The more cheaper looking the restaurant is, the better the food. But we rarely ate out because her parents would tend to come over every few weeks and stock up the shared freezer for us 🥰

I went to Shanghai and the food I had was so peak, but the service was kind of confusing. Part of me wishes I was reborn and was exposed to China at a young age instead of Japan, but Japan is still better than living in the U.S. so we ball

My go-to 3.5 takeout place was always super nice to its guests, but the old lady who ran the FoH (who was always super sweet to guests) would always yell and curse out her husband in the kitchen in Mandarin when she went back to put in the food order 😅
