Something similar to this happened to me in 1990. I took it to court, explain the whole situation, showed the paperwork where I had the tire repaired. And also showed the judge that having to take the time off of my job to appear in court cost me money. He dismissed the ticket and he required the officer to pay for the tire repair and to compensate me for my last time. I thought that was a very fair judge.
