I hope she's ok, it could be worth buying a glucose meter so you can check her blood glucose levels at home more regularly, also does she have kibble or a raw diet?

I don’t know anything about ferrets but I know for a lot of pets, people use honey for glucose! Again I’m not fully sure if ferrets can have that so I’d suggest looking into that. That’s the only thing I could think of. I hope your fur baby gets better soon!! She’s a cutie❤️❤️

Second Chance Ferret Rescue :
Follow up with your normal vet as soon as they can get you in to confirm. If it is insulinoma, she will need medication. Critical care for carnivores by oxbow is a must to have on hand, we put it in our raw for our medical babies. How old is she?

Recommend getting an alphatrak 3 (cat setting I think?), it will help you track blood glucose. Also I’d avoid giving her sugar. But if she is having seizures I’d use qtip to apply a little karo syrup on her gums until she can get to the vet (it only temporarily stabilizes them). Also, reason I’d avoid giving sugar so that you can get accurate values at the vet and can get the appropriate dose of pred. Else you might end up on a dose that may not be enough or accurate for her

my boy has it he on prednisone 2x a day it was a very scary moment when he crashed i kept Karo syrup on hand just incase it happened again but with the meds he's been doing better no episode yet I always make sure to feed him soup before giving the meds as it hard on the stomach

Can you say what symptoms she had? Because mine has like weird cramps sometimes and one vet says he might have low glucose and the other says he might lack some vitamins. Except these cramps he’s okay he wants to play he eats everything is normal except his poops they’re kinda too soft sometimes diarrhoea

this happened to my lucy at literally one year old. we always kept maple syrup on hand and rubbed it on her gums. it hasnt happened since then but we always keep an eye on her! they are so sensitive

I’ve dealt with insulinoma with 3 of my ferrets and they were put on prednisolone 2x a day. Multiple vet visits to check their blood sugars to make sure the medication dosage was just right. We keep Caro syrup on hand just in case they have a hypoglycemic episode. It’s very scary when your ferret is lethargic and not their normal selves. I’m glad you were able to get them in to be seen and I wish you guys well! 💗
