People might think, “Oh, y’all got close because you both have the same bone disorder.” But actually, that wasn’t even something that we talked about at the beginning. Jay: When you have a connection with someone that you just really can’t explain, you just go with it. Pamela: It’s a love that I’ve never experienced with anyone. Jay: When you find someone that is your person, it feels unfair to say that you don’t know if you’re gonna get that same story of 50 years. Like, you see other people, and a lot of people take for granted being able to have that with somebody, and how people talk about their partners and, like, “Oh, I just- I’m so happy when I’m not around them.” Pamela: Or like, “You all are newlyweds. That- that honeymoon phase will end.” Jay: That’s why it’s just so important to celebrate everything- even the little things. Pamela: not only are we, like, romantically together and a couple, but we’re also very, like, best friends and family. Jay: I just knew I had found my person. I was like, “I’ll stay here and make myself at home.” So… Pamela: (laughs in love) …and you did when you first visited me. (laughs) Jay: Yep.
