@hannahbevington: Brain dump of the day: When is the right time to spend our investments?? It’s all well and good spending all these years saving up, but when it actually comes to taking money out, how do we all feel about that? Because that makes me kinda anxious!! #investingjourney #moneymindset #financialfreedom #wealthbuilding
This is sooo relatable. I have started to spend some of what I have invested and it’s reminded me of the power of what I have actually got to my name. Don’t be afraid of spending some!! For me, I have withdrawn a big chunk over the last year and spent it on travelling. I kept thinking the next financial milestone would make me feel better but it never did! So I thought why not, open the taps a bit. It’s a balance

It terrified me too. I felt it’s not the sum, it’s the work and time that went into getting there in the first place. But one thing is certain. You made it there once, you’ll do it again and even bigger next time!

It's a mindset like you say, it's very difficult to change when it's been your focus for a number of years. Like you I talk myself out of buying things but it's hard to change. Suppose there are worse problems to have 😁

No because I panicked so hard withdrawing for my house deposit & car but then it dawned on me this is…what I’ve been saving for? Despite that it still felt icky doing it. I have this weird thing also where when I subtract what I’m taking out I imagine I’m never earning another penny again and I’ll never save it again. It’s so strange

This is so relatable! I'm like this with my house deposit. I'm building the pot but I know when the time comes, I won't want that money to leave my bank account

Same. I have worked so hard so going out does not even feel enjoyable as I think about the hardest tasks I had to do to get it

Great video! Tomorrow is never guaranteed. I definitely have the same issue but I keep reminding myself that I also want to enjoy life, so money spent on memories and family you won’t regret <3 may regret a car though… but each to their own xx

Trick is when you draw down, as gains average 7% only withdraw a max of 4 % so you are still keeping in the gains territory

It takes years to build and seconds to spend. I bought my first home in 2021 and in hindsight had I rented instead I would be significantly better off. Also buying a house reduces your flexibility in more ways than one.
