@plantbasedbambi: finally made it to @sepps | Giuseppe Federici vegan pop-up at @boxhallcity … Giuseppe’s Kitchen I got there at 11:55 - within minutes the queue built up behind me - really exciting to see. So many people showing up for vegan food! I ordered the Nonna’s walnut bolognese, the pesto arancini, and the biscoff tiramisu. Starting with the bolognese - this was absolutely delicious. It had such a good depth of flavour. The walnut ragu was quite light but integrated nicely through the spaghetti. I’m pretty sure the vegan cheese on top is @JULIENNEBRUNO as well, which felt like a bit of a treat considering they aren’t stocking in shops atm. PLEASE START STOCKING AGAIN. Overall, I loved this. It was £14, a generous portion, and the quality was high. Next, the arancini. These were pesto-rice filled, and I also ordered pesto on the side… which in hindsight maybe I should have ordered the marinara for difference. That being said, they were nice. The rice was cooked perfectly, the pesto was great, and the outside had a really good crisp to it. There was some flaky salt on top which I loved, but I do think they could have done with a little more salt inside just to bring everything out a bit more. When you got a bite with the salt on top though, they were really good. And then the tiramisu. This is the one I was most curious about. I believe the flavour changes, this time it was Biscoff. I completely understand the idea of making something that’s a bit more Instagrammable, but for me, this leaned slightly more towards that than just letting a classic tiramisu shine. I usually love Biscoff, and I found this one a bit too sweet for me personally. Good texture though. Overall, the food quality is there, the portions are generous, and the energy around this pop-up is genuinely exciting. It’s really nice to see this level of hype around vegan food, especially Italian. I’m really looking forward to see what Sepps does next. If this turns into something more permanent, I’ll definitely be back #veganfood #plantbasedfood #vegancommunity #veganlondon #veganfoodie
