@thuncle: God already gave humans boundaries. We are limited by our bodies, by nature, by pain, by death, by physics, by time, by space, by needs, by weakness, by ignorance. So clearly the world was never designed around unlimited freedom. That is what makes this so strange. If God was already choosing the boundaries of human life, why not choose them a little differently? Why not make a world where people could still love, hate, help, betray, create, destroy, tell the truth, lie, be generous, be selfish, but could not commit the worst horrors imaginable?
