what i cant understand is why everything needs a story and a passion behind it, is me not actively trying to get in enough to show for my effort like? is the answer I just want to be rich not enough because thats enough passion for me fs

why does a “why” genuinely matter? i have no genuine moral reasoning on why i want to become a lawyer; it simply seems like a cool job and i am looking to prolong the wealth of my family

I was #1 and didn’t even write my essays about law. Wrote about my love for journalism. Admitted to multiple t50s (all I applied to) and at a school now with a scholarship. Having fun. It doesn’t always have to be that serious 💀

My gpa is low. LSAT is mid. I got accepted ONLY because of God and my statements.

She’s right. I took the LSAT in June and I knew I wouldn’t be able to get into anywhere until the next round of applications so I waited, did my research and prepared all summer to submit October 1, 2021, I got in March 9, 2022. And I only applied to 1 school because that’s all I could afford. Fast forward I moved there for school, graduated, and passed the bar on the first try

I was a combination of all three of these hypothetical people: applied on a whim, one shot LSAT at the last cycle, etc. and I got in to my #1 school just fine with a 75% scholarship and have been practicing for 4 years. It's really okay.

My statement basically went with “went to talk to my dad’s male lawyer. He basically told me having a family is more important. Prove him wrong” there were def other topics in there but i don’t remember all that

having a “why” is so essential in any endeavor. even when you want to work at mcdonald’s they’re going to ask you why!

I disagree I applied last day , to one school and I applied before my LSAT score dropped because I took the April lsat . Gave my self one shot to get a high score and one school . I scored a 162 and got into the one school I applied for . What God has for you is for YOU .

how do you define a good “story?” i feel passionate about law because it’s very intellectually stimulating but that doesn’t feel like something an admissions officer wants to see in a personal statement. i don’t really have a sob story or any major life event that made me choose law either

I was all 3 of these 5 years ago. Now, I took some time, I have 3 small kids, I got full on law firm experience, currently working directly for a shareholder for the firm, got my masters degree, am studying 3-4 hours a night for the LSAT to increase my score. I already started gathering my rec letters, already made a draft for my PS statement so my app is ready for September 1st. I feel much better and confident this time around. Just need that LSAT score to be above the medians 🤞

My why is I want to help people. I want to make a difference. I want to speak out for those who are scared too. Idk if that’s good enough
