@ameliasahm03: No one tells you how wild your body and brain become after you have a baby. 🤯🤍 Like… we hear about sleepless nights and diapers and crying. But no one really prepares you for the actual science happening inside of you. Because postpartum isn’t just a phase. It’s a full transformation. Your brain literally changes. 🧠 It’s called “mom brain” but not in the way people joke about it. Your brain actually shrinks in certain areas… but it’s not a bad thing. It’s reorganizing. Rewiring itself to bond with your baby. To respond faster. To prioritize your baby above everything else. Which is why suddenly… You hear every tiny noise. You wake up before they even cry. You can’t fully relax even when they’re sleeping. You didn’t become anxious out of nowhere. Your brain is literally being rebuilt for survival and connection. 🤍 And then there’s this one that feels almost unreal… You can smell your baby in the dark. 👶✨ Not in a cute poetic way. In a real, biological, “I could pick my baby out of a room blindfolded” kind of way. Your brain wires itself so deeply to your baby that scent alone becomes recognition. That’s not random. That’s instinct on a whole different level. Your body is doing things you don’t even realize. And while all of this is happening… You’re also exhausted. Running on broken sleep. Feeding every couple hours. Trying to function like a normal human while your entire system is in overdrive. It’s no wonder it feels overwhelming sometimes. 🥺 Because it is. You’re not just “adjusting to a baby.” You’re going through one of the biggest physical and neurological shifts a human can experience. And yet… You’re expected to just figure it out quietly. To smile for pictures. To act like this is all second nature. To bounce back like nothing happened. That’s the part that doesn’t make sense. Because this stage deserves way more understanding. Way more grace. Way more support. Especially in the moments no one sees. Like the middle of the night. When it’s dark. When your baby is finally asleep on your chest. When your mind starts racing again. That’s when it can feel the loneliest. Like you’re the only one awake in the world. Like you’re the only one feeling this mix of exhaustion, love, anxiety, and awe all at once. 🌙 But you’re not. There are moms everywhere… going through the exact same transformation as you. Their brains rewiring. Their bodies recovering. Their hearts adjusting to a love that feels almost too big. They’re awake at 2am. 3am. 4am. Holding their babies. Smelling that familiar scent. Trying to make sense of this new version of themselves. And just knowing that… changes something. 💛 Because suddenly it’s not just you. It’s you… and thousands of other moms in the exact same season. Trying their best. Learning as they go. Showing up even when they feel completely drained. So if postpartum feels overwhelming… If you feel different… If your brain feels foggy or anxious or just not like it used to… You’re not broken. You’re transforming. 🤍 And you’re doing an incredible job. Even on the days it doesn’t feel like it. Save this for when you need the reminder. Send it to a mom who’s in this stage right now. 💛 #mom #MomsofTikTok #momlife #momtok #newborn
