I think verzuz needs to go back to just 2 artists/producers sitting in a room, telling stories behind songs/beats/etc., and just playing the songs! No more performances and theatrics!

But if you write songs that is apart of your catalog. It’s not Tank fault Tyrese never wrote for anybody. When verzuz started it was folks who wrote and performed songs. Ne-Yo and Johnta Austin and they both played their own songs and songs they wrote. Same with Sean Garret and The Dream, or Babyface and Teddy Riley. I’m not mad at Tank for getting up there and performing songs he wrote for others. The precedent had been set.

This started in detroit, The Electrifying Mojo in the 80s. You're supposed to perform your best song against the other person's best song. No help unless it's a duet, no features. You have to have at least one minute on someone else's song to include it. It's that simple, and some of these live performances are trash. Just let the DJ's do it
