Alanon is very helpful for helping those living with loved ones who are struggling with addiction (alcoholism/AUD) its tough but you learn to take of yourself…sometimes that means that the loving thing to do is to leave and stop aiding the disease..of course each circumstance is different..some come to understand that the loving thing to do can be discontinuing the support of the addict by leaving or what that entails..When I got sober (40 yrs) I knew I was alone..nobody was going to help me support my habit any more..

Even if there’s no alcohol in the house an alcoholic will find it in mouthwash, rubbing alcohol, perfume - anything that has alcohol in it will do.
