Friday is stand up comedy day! At the end of the day, give students 10 minutes to tell a clean joke.

Love all of this! I go to the cafeteria and sit with my kids at lunch on Fridays and then go out on the playground with them. They love it and I get to know them on a different level! 🩷

I taught 4th grade. April is poetry month. Every single day in April we read a few fun poems from a variety of sources. Then they LOVED to just draw and color a "silly scene" from one of the poems. Ungraded and just "stress free"

Have a meeting with Ben and Jerry and if that doesn’t help… Bartles and James! But in all seriousness, your suggestions are top notch.

I think our pta would provide like coffee truck to come to school. Also at the beginning of the year I love when teacher put in their about me what coffee and candy they like for teacher gifts. Also those emails are so important I got one from a teacher and cried. My son’s autistic and I get so many calls from school or emails that are negative so one positive email from someone makes a big difference. Also tell your kids to write their teachers an email or card before they graduate middle or high school

So this is more of a all year suggestion, but I saw a teacher say that she makes a phone call home to one random students parents every single day and this does two things the first is that it makes the kids be on their best behavior because they never know who's going to get picked and the second is that it helps to build that communication with the parents because hopefully if all the kids are on their best behavior because they don't know if they're going to get the call home or not then you're always making good phone calls home. I think it would be really cute though for like administrators to have little tickets that are like caught being good type things that we give to the kids but actually give them to the kids to give to staff members and put it into like a monthly raffle or something for I don't know a $20 gift card somewhere Like it doesn't have to be a wild prize or maybe that teacher gets to wear you know jeans to school or something I don't know but like whatever the prize is that's what they get and it doesn't have to be anything super exciting for a prize just a fun thing that the kids can participate in making the staff members feel good. on that same note I saw probably like high school kids that had these little slips of paper and they would say things like give this to the teacher that it's always eating or give this to the teacher that makes you laugh or give this to the teacher that makes you feel safe and they ran around with these little pieces of paper giving them to different teachers and it was very touching and funny like the one that got the paper that said they're always eating totally laughed and was like yeah that's me So it was a very cute interaction. another fun thing would be to get a ton of tiny little dumpster fires and just put one in each staff members box with a note that says how many days or how many weeks are left with the kids and reminding that of their strength to make it through. I think having staff members praise each other as well as having the kids praise staff members is a really good culture to create in a school. teaching kids to build people up instead of tearing them down is so important!💙

Have a staff "gift give". have each staff member bring in a $5 or $10 gift. You can wrap them in silly paper or boxes . Have a designated gift pick spot, Each staff member can go by and select the gift they want. Serious gifts not a silly one, or a silly one along with a $5 or $10 gift card.
