We recently moved with an almost 3 year old and a 1.5 month old at the time. Our daughter was pretty upset but 3 months later she has totally settled!!

Been there!!! Still there sometimes lol. We moved with our daughter (same age as Mimi!) 6 months ago and still to this day when she’s upset she will go “I want to go to my RED DOOR HOUSE not my new one” 😭😭 my heart always breaks

I went through this with my kids and something that really helped was I asked the builders if I got paint for their rooms would they paint them those colors and they did so they moved into rooms that were painted pretty colors for them and customized to them

Do you have pictures? You could make her a little photo book of pics of her little house (😭). And then pics of the new house? Could be cute to do a little scrap book together with stickers!! Have her caption them!!

Hi!! We did almost the exact same thing. Sold our house, moved in with my husbands parents and built our house. We sold the house when my son was 1.5 and moved in when he was almost 2.5. He did this with both moves, especially when we moved into the house we built because he missed having his grandparents there whenever he wanted lol but we just really over exaggerated how excited we were to have our own space and his toys however he wanted. We also brought him to the new house as much as we could so he was familiar with it and saw it a bunch during the process!

Ugh it’s so nice hearing someone talk about the sadness with selling a house you love in order to accommodate more kids. We sold and bought while I was big pregnant with my second. I loved our house and I miss it but I do enjoy the space in our new house.

She’ll get over it!!! Honestly I’ve moved my 4 year old 4 times. It’s exhausting. He didn’t like the move the last time but now he gets it and he doesn’t care about the old house anymore.

I feel this so much! My husband and I are pregnant with baby number 4, a newer bigger house would be great but the thought of leaving our first house is so sad. It’s nothing glamorous to most people but we remodeled it to our liking and I just know nothing else will be this house!

Ugh this makes me so nervous. We are moving but we won't be in until the baby is a month from being born, so my daughter is going to have to deal with moving and then a new sibling at the same time. I feel so bad

This is about to be my life and I’m so scared! About to sell the home we brought my 2 1/2 years old home from the hospital in and down sizing to an apartment while we wait on our build! I’m praying she never says “I wanna go home”, but I know it’s coming🥲

My husband travels for work and normally my girls do okay with it. But yesterday my 2.5 year old cried so hard before naptime because she missed her daddy. I think that age just feels change in such a big way because I think they are starting to understand long term things. I totally cuddled her and cried with her. Setting up her room sounds like the perfect way to help her settle in 💕

My 4 year old said the same things when we moved into a bigger home recently! But we’ve been here for 6 months and he’s in love with the house now! She will adjust with time 🫶🏻

I can definitely relate. I’m 8.5 mo pregnant and we have an almost 2.5 yr old. We’re moving next week and it’s definitely best for our family and we’re so excited but also so emotional for such a big change!

Something that could help make her excited for the new house is to involve her in picking things out for her room, like the paint color or some decorations 😊 I’m sure she’ll love the house once she’s settled!
