@izzyavh: Birth rates are rapidly dropping in the US, and honestly it seems to makes sense to everyone other than boomers and the upper class. For most people, having kids just feels way too expensive and out of reach for a lot of people right now! #childfree #parenthood #news
It’s too expensive to even take care of myself 🤦🏻♀️

I had a complicated pregnancy and birth and the bill before insurance was $90k. We paid $7,200 (hubbys company covered half, so it was really $14,400 total) for our “good” insurance during the span of this pregnancy. Our bill after insurance “coverage” was still over $8,000 🤣🤣🤣

Just so you understand. Families during the GREAT DEPRESSION were having children. The average birth rate at that time was 2.1 children. Today we are no where near a Great Depression and birth rates have fallen to 1.6. It’s not an affordability problem it’s a selfish self centered problem.

My endometriosis surgery was $77k. I can’t even fathom what a high-risk birth would cost me.

Gen Z internalized “don’t have kids you can’t afford” and millennials internalized “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” aka the Golden Rule…. And they wonder why we care about other people and tend to be more liberal…. Like, you raised us that way?!?

As a conservative, thank fucking god it's declining. There are WAY TOO MANY WOMEN WHO ARE HAVING KIDS THEY CAN'T AFFORD. Guess who pays for that?

If I could go back in time and not have my son, I would. Not because I don’t love him or like being a parent but because it is so impossible to afford having a kid. And I stress so much about how will he afford life when he gets older? Got forbid I pass away and he has to figure out life with no help from me. 🤦🏻♀️I hate life.

As a Gen Z on the younger side, I don’t know how my parents afford me, I’m genuinely curious- sports, activities, concerts/fewtivals, trips - it literally doesn’t make sense 😭, hopefully when I have kids they arnt as needy as me…
