so glad to hear you had a positive experience. I'm an Indian living in the US so it's nice to hear the positive instead of all the negative you see online

Do you recommend a website or app to find group travels? Bc I also tend to travel solo but some places it truly isn’t safe

as an Indian American, appreciate the kind words. The sheer amount of racism about India especially on travel videos is horrifying

Thank you for this! I just did a quick layover in Delhi and now I’m going back next month for a proper trip with a tour. I was fear mongered as a solo traveler to not go, but my 13 hour layover erased all the noise people spew at me. The culture is beautiful, but of course I need to have my wits about me.

I bring ciproflaxicin with me when I go to India. I consider it essential! If you get Delhi belly, it goes away in a day with ciproflaxicin. They have cipro in India, but it’s not as effective as the American product.

Just like most countries, if you don’t spend the bare minimum on things and exercise reasonable judgment you will have a fun, safe, and healthy experience! (PS thanks for addressing the fact most negativity is flat out just racism)

Thanks for your honest review. You're right about the blatent racism around India travel on this app. It's such a huge country and there's so much ppl don't see.

It has its flaws, perhaps even moreso than other places, but the majority of foreign-produced india content here is pure clout chasing by posting only the bad. I think india is sort of a ‘gateway drug’ to anything other than first world travel to most US visitors, and a lot just can’t handle it

i like the nuance you added between the type of staring. as a white man who has traveled in asia and africa you definitely get a lot of staring by people who are curious bc they may have never seen a white person

As a woman who visited as well the amount of racism people have shown when I mention it is insannnnne. “I would never visit India”….cool? They don’t want you there either. I did feel uncomfortable, a lot of times, but eh, is what it is. It was the most authentic experience I’ve ever had in all of my travels. It’s life changing but it was hard. If you can’t handle it and are gonna walk away only embracing the negatives, then don’t go. If you can’t handle it then don’t
