I’m shocked that the black card even gives points. If you have an AMEX black card, you don’t care about your points. You don’t need points to fly Delta, United, or American, you’re flying private. You don’t need points to pay off a hotel.

most research scientists or those who run the labs qualify for it. it's just the fees and entry hurdles arent worth the aggravation. it's just a kitchy thing no more powerful than a Platinum card just a manufacturered exclusivity. it started as a Seinfeld joke to the amex CEO.
