born in San Francisco, grew up in the east bay. Lived in LA and SD for 16 years. Half my life in nor cal, half my life in so cal. My personal opinion is that the Bay Area has more to do and better food, San Diego has nicer people and better beaches.

@venny: Orrrr you can buy a home for $230k live in it for a year while you fix it up. Rent it out for $2.5k or $3.k move to San Diego and get half of your mortgage paid off for your 2nd home :)) 😁 own, never rent!!!
