@leahhopehealth: I had my 4th loose skin removal surgery (5th overall, including a lipedema only surgery) on Wednesday, and here’s a recap of my surgery day! I didn’t end up feeling as nervous as I thought I would… probably because this is my 5th surgery in the last 14 months. But I know it’s also because I feel so incredibly taken care of and supported in every way by my surgeon @modernplasticsurgery and the team at the @Advanced Lipedema Treatment program at @The Roxbury Institute ! Dr. Moshrefi removed 11 inches of skin from each thigh and 4-5 inches of skin from each calf! 😱 I’m currently 5 days post-op and already noticeably in less pain than I was on days 1 and 2. I’m also much more mobile, which is a relief. My progress so far is making me hopeful that this recovery won’t be as difficult as I was mentally preparing for. Outside of some pain at the incision sites, the swelling is still one of the most uncomfortable parts. I’m also incredibly itchy now, but that’s actually a good thing because it means I’m healing! I’m either doing much better than I expected five days out, or I’ve built a much higher tolerance for pain and discomfort after all of my surgeries.
