average of 12% return a year. so the guy getting $6000 a month needs to have invested $600,000. Say an average guy puts 5% of his check, about $80 a week, into it instead of a 401k. only would take 40 years with compounding money. say you start with $100,000. just use the dividends. only 22 years to get to 6k a week. so this is the old "money makes money". applies to 1% of people that have money.
