I feel like the writers stopped trying at a point tbh. Like, she felt she was disconnected from and used by people, which is a cool direction for a god character, but falls apart when you examine her time in the Fatui. She was invited to tea parties with Sandrone, Arlecchino, and Signora, and Dottore experiments only involved her pushing things around with khuuvaki until she decided on her own to just stop going. With her design, I feel like the light, rounded clothes clash with her dark, angular hair. I wish they had made the colours of her dress closer to the colours of luonnotar (pink and yellow with the blue and white) to try and make her hair and clothes look less like two designs smashed togethet

but the hoyofair animation isn’t the only thing about columbina we got through out the years, we got voice lines from the other harbingers, and her brief interaction with dottore in winter night lazzo, and all these things, even if now confirmed “misunderstanding”, DID undeniably lead players to believe and view her character to be different. how are you supposed to not view a character as “creepy” if you’re straight up told they’re creepy? hoyo has built her character to be a “little twist” when it’s actually revealed, and i think it’s really up to the player whether you like it and adore her true character , or wouldve liked it more to fit the expectations, both are valid.

tbf I'm not defending fan interpretation of her but every idea of a character comes from somewhere and most of columbinas was voice lines which was built up for years when the other harbingers released you can say the same about skirk and the only issues people find about her is her design but personality wise we knew what to expect but columbinas was a almost 180 on what we expected I do love current columbina tho still regardless

Idk, I get that she has solid writing it’s just that it feels like so many of these powerful characters become our ally’s and friends cuz of plot reasons. That’s why I feel like raiden shogun felt so impactful, she felt like genuinely a threat that wasn’t just fatui or monsters and compared to the other two archons we got, she was a fresh breath of air.

i and many others have come to the conclusion that columbina was rewritten, hence why she is the way she is rn. but i personally don’t rlly find it an issue (kinda, ig more on 50/50 abt it). hyv found its way to incorporate a rewritten character well enough to the story and i have no complaints abt it. tho i haven’t finished the aq quest, columbina for me rn still doesn’t write to me as a badly rewritten character and i still genuinely love her design (im the target audience for her design tbh like i LOVE when characters have heavy detail/clothing on the waist up but very minimal details on the leg part +it fits her angelic aesthetic). my only problem is that hyv didn’t use her hype to her full potential. like it or not, the fandom LOVED the fan interpretations of her and i know hyv knew abt it too. but instead of going out of their comfort zone to create a character like fanon columbina, they gave her this “formula” that every genshin character have (idk if that makes sense and idk if i could even explain it if yall want to 😭) that would fit into the world they wrote. and it just ended up bland for me.

I really like columbina! Her aesthetic is very beautiful to my eyes, I agree though with the legs being so uncovered but only that in desing. Her interactions with Sandrone was amazing and btw for people who want her the villain they wanted before just to remind you the last scene in winter's Lazzo video (the scene where columbina is helping? or supporting? dottore burn the irminsoul) is still in the future! So yeah any plottwist can be happen.

I personally don’t like her because she has this shy personality that really makes me mad, same applies to characters like Noelle, Succruse, Mika, etc. that was at the beginning, later she was okay but the way everything was about her was kind of repetitive, finally her design is…apart from what you mention her hair is so off with the whole design, also I dislike the way that she is “unintentionally funny” is just not of my liking

I can’t say much on her story because I have yet to complete it but I will say, her design. I wish it seems more moon goddess in a way? the wing stuff she has is so cool but I feel like more could’ve been done to make her feel more connected to the moon. Like zibai’s design feels more moon goddess to me and as much as I love columbina’s design I think they didn’t do all they could on that part.
