@strangeology: They don’t even want to entertain this idea, but if someone was around before us, and are still here pulling the strings… well I guess we might be cooked 🥀 #lostcivilizations #theory #conspiracy #interesting #History
The Silurian Hypothesis is one of my favorite rabbit holes even though it is extremely unlikely.

if I remember correctly the troodon, probably butured the name, had a higher brain to body ratio than us and were developing close to opposable thumbs

isn't something like 90% of the ocean unexplored? that's a lot of area for something to be hidden in

Issue is, while it is potentially unlikely for there to be fossils (I’m sure our fossil records currently hold less than 1% of the species from each era they’re from for instance), there still would be some kind of further evidence. Our industrial era wasn’t all that long but we very quickly tapped into radioactive materials (even before the nukes), which should still show up within our own “fossils” millions of years from now, but just as radioactive decay byproduct, right? We may not see steel beams from some past civilization, but there still would be some kind of evidence in sediment beyond that of just a high spike in carbon.

100,000-300,000 years is more than enough for advanced civilization to rise and fall in between each million of years gap

Definitely possible, but it’s basically all speculation without any real evidence

Makes me think of those ancient iron pipes that exist in that mountain, that predate the technology to create iron pipes at all, let alone at that size.
