I want to love this game and gave it a genuine try, but unfortunately for me it has a “tempo” issue. It’s like listening to or enjoying songs at different speeds, and unfortunately I can’t speed this game up to enjoy it at the pace I like. I hope that makes sense. If they made sprinting more impactful without needing upgrades, I think the games combat would feel better. It’s like slow Counter-Strike movement had a baby with Halo. I understand they’re trying to find that balance between calculated and aggressive movement, but it feels off in the sci-fi setting. I’m so over Apex and what it has become, but I miss the movement and intensity of fights. I was hoping Marathon was going to feel similar. Besides the sluggish movement, Marathon has so much going for it. The world building is masterfully done, as well the design/aesthetic. Totally agree with the audio claim as well. Guns feel awesome too. Keep killing it dude, I hope you can carve out a solid Marathon community for years to come.

Not for the masses. Too sweaty for casuals and new players. Will end up having a niche audience and die out. 250million in the hole for Bungie. 3.6 billion in the hole for Sony. Game is good tho, best take I’ve seen so far.

It's a niche game that will go no further then this and the reason why Bungie is reactive is cause this is all Bungie has left and is pushed by Sony. There is no hook for new players. That was the same issue destiny 2 had

Marathon is hella fun, after 500 hours of arc i finally made the decision to buy this game and I can’t put it down. I’ve always loved fps but this game brings in a new element that grabs you for more. Their is so much to do with the contracts, fractions, and the amount of guns their are is amazing. the gunplay is so crisp, and the pvp is amazing.

I’d really like to see optional resets, even if it needs to come with penalties the following season. I make fine progress (I’ve found many contracts easier than anecdotes told me) but I don’t have the time to invest to realistically reach ‘the end’. So while the game is polished and enjoyable, it’s demanding too much of my time just to experience everything

Whole game is just a game mode ripped from Destiny to make a failing game and cause Destiny to fail harder 👍

I think the dev team being so consistently responsive n open with the community has been the best part i can see in a year the game will be more accessible for new players while still having enough for the players who stay for awhile
