@richmanparadise: Nicolas Puech, the 82-year-old, unmarried and childless heir to the Hermès fortune, is reportedly planning to adopt his 51-year-old former gardener and handyman, who comes from a modest Moroccan background. If completed, the adoption would make the gardener his legal heir, giving him rights to half of Puech’s estimated $11 billion fortune. He would also inherit properties in Marrakesh, Morocco, and Montreux, Switzerland, worth close to $6 million. Puech’s decision appears to be driven by his estrangement from much of his family, along with his intention to cancel a prior inheritance arrangement with the Isocrates Foundation, a charity he founded.
