i struggle a lot with sharing my feelings and being vulnerable but this is my first pride month on testosterone and it’s had a very unexpected emotional impact on me so i’m gonna bare my soul for a moment; six months ago, before starting hrt, i was in the worst mental state i’ve ever been in. i was seriously contemplating taking my own life, not only because i felt i could no longer live in my body but because i also didn’t want to live in the increasingly regressive world we’re in today. i still worry for my future as a transgender person. trans people, and particularly trans kids, need to be heard. they deserve love, support, and above all, acceptance. i’ve never been proud of being trans, and i’m still learning to be. i came out and began transitioning when i was 11. it was the hardest decision of my life, but there isn’t a single day that i don’t regret it. gender affirming care saved my life and i would not be here without it. above all else, this pride month has reminded me of all the trans people who are less fortunate than me; those who are unable to come out, those who can’t afford, or don’t have access to, medical transition, and those who have lost their lives for simply trying to live. i’m so incredibly grateful to have been able to start testosterone and to do it with the support of the people around me, and that unfortunately isn’t something that everyone has the privilege of experiencing. please look after the trans people around you, and to anyone who’s in the place i once was, you are not alone and it DOES get better. happy pride month <3 #fyp #edit #cmpunk #WWE #aew
