Question, how do you do the rays of light though?

cna someone help me, whenever I clip a copied or duplicated layer, it's fine but when I use a blending mode such as multiply or contrast on that same layer, it turns transparent for some reason 😭 I followed the exact same process of tutorials but my copied shadow/lighting layers becomes transparent. I really need help I've been crashing out in this for 46 mins
