@metropol.world: mongolian tectonic, 2007 tecktonik came out of a club called metropolis on the outskirts of paris. named after tectonic plates because of its mish-mash of jumpstyle from belgium, hardstyle from the netherlands, voguing, and glowsticking. it was tough and technical, but the attitude was all smiles, nonchalant, and calm but precise. it spread online before social media existed in any form we’d recognise, and mongolia became one of the biggest search markets for it on earth. it was optimistic, a dance built on the rise of globalism, a new peak in club culture, and dispersed through blogs and early video-sharing sites. #musicarchive #mongoliantectonic #tectonic #clubbing #discover
