I’m encouraged to see Mensah Otabil placing a stronger emphasis on Christ in his recent teachings. I’ve been sharing his devotionals daily across multiple platforms, and this shift feels both timely and meaningful. Looking back to the late 1980s and 1990s, I often felt that the message would have been even more grounded if Christ Jesus had remained the central focus, with other teachings flowing from that foundation. Perhaps the charismatic wave of that era influenced a stronger emphasis on church establishment and expansion. Coming from an orthodox church background, I have always been aware of both its strengths and its limitations. At the same time, I also recognized the potential weaknesses and excesses within some charismatic expressions. What is encouraging now is the sense of alignment emerging across the global body of Christ. There seems to be a growing balance where character, spiritual maturity, and the fruit of the Spirit are becoming the focus, while the gifts of the Spirit are rightly understood and used as tools, not the foundation.
