My prenatal doula explained pitocin is so rough because your body when going into labour naturally produces adrenaline to counterbalance the pain of labour but when being induced that does not happen so it’s pure pain 🥲🤪

Type 1 diabetic here - just had my third and was induced will all three, it’s not just about size of the baby, it’s about risk of placenta failure the longer you go.

Im scared tbh! I also have gestational & in high risk for a couple of reasons, BUT I did NOT want to be put on insulin mainly because I saw what my dad went through with his diabetes… I know & understand not everyone is the same, and want the best for my baby… but insulin & being induced have me a bit on edge too. 😮‍💨 I have a couple more weeks to go. Like 7 weeks if that.

I was induced at 41 weeks and did not use Pitocin! They have other options so you shouldn’t need to use it just because you’re being induced!

I’m on 20 units of long-acting insulin at night and following diet very closely. My gd is still uncontrollable 🤦🏻‍♀️

I had a bilateral shoulder dystocia and body dystocia during my delivery. I had No risk factors. GD is a major risk factor for shoulder dystocias and it was beyond traumatizing. Id take pitocin contractions (I was also induced) over shoulder dystocia any day!!! Hoping this aids in making an informed decision. Hoping for a quick and smooth delivery! 💗

I agree with you. I have 4 kids. My first I had to get induced and it was painful. I had 3 natural home births after they were amazing experiences

I was induced - without GD - at 39 weeks and loved it. I felt like it was super smooth and had pitocin.

I won’t lie I got pitocin for both of my inductions and it was great!!! But I do agree that people react differently and I COMPLETELY understand the fear! Praying so hard that everything goes so amazing for this birth! P.s. I want a third so badly and now even more after finding your page!

I was induced at 39 weeks without Pitocin and it's much better. I can't remember the name of the Medicine I was given but it was much better and things moved along fast so I would ask what the other options are!

Mama to three and currently pregnant with 4th have had GD with two of my babies. I personally also never wanted to be induced with my first GD especially that every nst and ultrasound was coming out good. But at 39 weeks I had gallbladder pains and I told them the only way I was getting induced was through a membrane sweep and my body reacted very well thankfully so I always recommend. More closer to a natural birth in my opinion.

My second was an induction with pitocin and went great. It wasn’t any more painful than my first and I actually had a better labor experience. It was also overall less painful

girl let's be friends, pitocin is so horrible , literally at 37 weeks.my ob kept pushing it, non stop calling me even though I told them I wanted to go into labor naturally, I did end up going in naturally but the pressure from the dr was really eating away at me. Trust yourself, you got this and your body knows what it is doing

With the twins, they said 39 weeks with GD if my sugars weren’t controlled well. Mine were so there weren’t any risks other than “big babies” and baby’s blood sugars, but that was already a given having GD anyway!

Were you able to use a CGM without finger pricking? I have a CGM covered by insurance but my doc is still making me finger prick!
