Ok, realistically...I got one for my cat. It sheds a lil bit but nothing crazy like regular cardboard. and so far the shed hasn't been tracking all over outside the scratch box

wtf is it made of that stops it from “shedding”…? Is it plastic..? Rubber…?

my cats would look at that than instantly go dig on the box spring of the bed 😅 and we've tried everything to get them to stop

I've bought SEVERAL scratch areas for my cat and he still prefers the apartment door frames because he KNOWS we'll chase him for it. I even chase him for the regular scratchers when I know he's doing it for attention. I take scratching as a sign he wants to play because he LOVES playing tag around the apartment. It's just unfortunate that I can't seem to get him to stop wrecking the frames :( I'll be saving to pay for repairs when we move

If you sprinkle cat nip initially on the scratcher to entice a kitty, they might be more likely to continue using it. At least with my 4th cat. I’ve only tried this because her scratcher came with cat nip. So I sprinkled it on it. Never have again. Bought a new one recently and she still uses it even though I didn’t sprinkle cat nip on this newer one.

Omgggg these comments of people giving their opinion on how their cat wouldn’t use it is exhausting. If you don’t think your cat will use it to just move on.
