Interesting. I had a high level not during a flare. Doctor said mcas. Might push for further testing

It’s not always high on mastocytosis though! I know peoole who has normal levels and tbey had systemic masto

I have envelopes to take to get tryptase bloods done but I honestly think my baseline is constant flare, I can’t tell if there’s a difference anymore 😩

Also i just read about a deficit in tryptase when dealing with gastropareses? Could you tell more about this, please? No idea if this is true. I do have a form ready for a tryptase test. But i am still ill/flaring since september. No clue when i should take the test

I was in an active flare and my blood test showed a rise in my tryptase levels. Still didn’t give me a diagnosis 🤦🏼♀️

So to get the test done, I have you ho off alllllll my meds that I have messed around with for over 10 years so that can actually function. All that alchemy gone to produced a flair. A potential flair that may go away... or hang on until 10 years from now when I can recalibrate again.

How abt getting tryptase drawn during anaphylaxis? Would it be of any use in diagnosing the cause (I have PFSA) or it just academic? I have a hyper active immune system-serum sickness from sulfa, my eyes are a mess in the spring friom allergies (on several eye drops and nasal sprays), gabapentin caused mania and severe SI (rare s/e is it a allergic rx??), Cipro caused tendonitis, statin caused leg cramps…I just seem to be hyper sensitive. Is it MAST Cell activation 🤷

My son had this as a baby, to to the age of 10ish. He was one of the only baby's at the time to get it. The hospital had American doctors and researchers come in to do tests on him & look into it all. They ended up taking a large biopsy out of his stomach at one point. When he finally got his diagnosis, and the correct medication, I had to fight with pharmacists every single month for his medication because the medication he was on was crazy, and shouldn't ever be mixed. I actually tried it once, I took what he should take and I was out cold. I could see why the pharmacist always questioned. Wow! He used to rip his skin to pieces and would always 🩸. Broke my heart. Nothing worse than having an itch that you can't scratch. He's 19 now and full of scars, but they are his warrior scars. Just a tip if anyone suffers, if you soak your body in ointment , wrap bandages around you, all over just wrap yourself up. Then if you have a lotion, smack that ontop so it just sinks into your skin . School used to call him a mummy 😅❤️so glad this has finally got the research it needed in the end.
