@dawson.diy0: I had to defend myself Recently we made a very unique coffee table, one that quite literally does not have another piece in the world that looks quite like it. It was an extremely difficult build that involved stacking and carving multiple layers of cherry wood into a remarkably organic and fluid shape. It is a technique called power carving, and I would advise carving bits from @kutzall if you are going to attempt it. When we made a social media post about it, it sparked quite the controversy between those that liked the piece and those that preferred other aesthetics. And that debate is totally cool, and we love that so many people had an opinion on it! Quite frankly, like any artist, there are aesthetic choices we made on that piece that we might have even wanted to walk back and go a different direction! But we had to address concerns about stability...because that was a factor we considered heavily and worked tirelessly on to overcome. By the end, we had a piece that looked like it wouldn't be stable, but sat as heavy and as firm as a rock.
