RETIRED MITSKI SCHOLAR GIVING CONTEXT: she (or her label?) sent out some vocal stems to certain producers in 2016 2017 not for mitski's own music who did what they wanted with them but nothing ever released from this, and alongside those leaks some actual mitski unreleased songs were leaked, all one or two years back and recently were posted on YT under Mitski Archive. i asked the creator of the channel about specific AI-esque songs on that channel and they wouldn't give me a straight answer on the more concerning ones but they say they found all they have on a website where lots of song leaks are shared which i won't share the name of out of respect . i know this specific song is 100% real, but how much creative input mitski had on this song is debatable. my theory for this song is that she sent a demo of this as an original song more in her style over to a producer who added the drums and general dance track vibes to the verse. I would be willing to bet that producer didn't touch the chorus / gave up on the project as a whole because it sounds SO mitski. there are one or two other proper real unreleased songs that presumably have mitski's FULL creative input (moreso than this song imo) that she either cut from puberty 2 or wrote while likely touring for that album, before she had a clear idea of BTC . the rest on that youtube channel are her vocal stems with dance production / potentially some AI usage somewhere down the line. hope this helps! ❤️
