ECZ to Spend US$5 Million on Ballots By Jacqueline Siulemba The printing of presidential ballot papers for the 2026 General Election will begin tomorrow. Electoral Commission of Zambia –ECZ- Vice-Chairperson, retired Major General VINCENT MUKANDA, announced this to stakeholders in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where they are observing the printing of ballot papers ahead of the 2026 General Election. Major General MUKANDA, who is leading the ECZ delegation, said the Commission is satisfied that Al Ghurair, the company contracted to print the ballot papers, is ready to carry out the assignment. He said the printing of ballot papers for parliamentary, mayoral, district chairperson and councillor elections will begin once the presidential ballot papers have been completed. Major General MUKANDA also said it is important for political parties to send representatives to observe the printing process to promote transparency. Earlier, the stakeholders toured the printing facility to familiarise themselves with the production process. Meanwhile, ECZ Chief Electoral Officer BROWN KASARO said the Commission will spend about US$5 million on printing all ballot papers for the 2026 General Election.
