Shoya is literally one of THE best representations of self improvement || Anime: A silent voice || Where to watch: Anisuge || Song name: Senma - Dead Calm || cc made EVERYTHING premium but I figured out a loophole so my cc stays safe for now at least.. || #silentvoice #shoyaishida #shoyaedit #silentvoiceedit #anime || Silent voice is one of those movies where you jsut gotta rewatch it every now and then || Shoya edit || Silent voice edit || Sad edit || Ignore all that if you actually read what I type here.. just tryna feed the algorithm words so it gains traction hopefully. || Caption for views - Shoya Ishida is the main character of the movie and manga A Silent Voice. His story is mainly about guilt, loneliness, and learning how to forgive yourself. As a kid, Shoya was loud, reckless, and wanted attention from his classmates. When Shoko Nishimiya, a deaf girl, transferred into his class, he started bullying her to entertain the others. At first the class went along with it, but when the teachers finally stepped in, everyone blamed Shoya alone. He became isolated and eventually understood the pain he caused. As he got older, the guilt destroyed his self-worth. He believed he didn’t deserve friends or happiness, and he became extremely socially anxious. The movie even shows this visually by placing X marks over people’s faces because he emotionally shut himself off from others. His main goal later is to apologize to Shoko and make things right. But the deeper point of his character is that redemption is hard — saying “sorry” doesn’t instantly erase the damage. Shoya has to slowly learn empathy, rebuild trust, and accept that he can still grow into a better person. By the end of the story, Shoya changes from someone who hurt others to someone who genuinely tries to understand and connect with people. His character represents: * the consequences of bullying * guilt and depression * social anxiety * redemption and self-forgiveness * learning to communicate honestly That’s why a lot of people connect with him — he feels flawed and human rather than perfect.
