I wonder if they are landmarks. Bull is drinking so fresh safe water, Fish denote a fishing spot, etc. with what looks like steppe grassland you would be able to see the stone atleast a considerable ways away.

the Dragon stones are part of wider Megalithic culture of Caucasus and same stone Menhirs are found in Southern Georgia and there is very interesting mythology surrounding it. the symbolism of heroes fighting dragons goes back to the ancient matriarchal water cult being taken over by patriarchal sky and storm gods. Oldest such story is found here in Caucasus about the battle between water bull (dragon) and land bull. this myth is also the Oldest surviving version of Proto Indo-European creation myth of twin gods Manu and Yamanu or Manuka and Janyka. this is a deep well of complicated mythology that is hard to get into in a comment, but glad people are talking about it.

Stuff like this is so interesting when it spans such a large period of time. Like, did people 3,000 years ago know the significance of the stones, or were they maybe just repeating what was also ancient ruins to them? Theres so much context that just isnt possible to have without extensive historical records.
