@lilymekeel: I get it from my dad 😂 a lot of mixed Natives get told this when they present either Black or White. That they can’t be Native because they don’t look Native. How you are perceived racially doesn’t always equal your ethnic/cultural identity. Some people who claim their tribe or Native side aren’t referring to their race, but where they identify culturally. When it comes to racial identity, being bi-racial or mixed doesn’t mean you have to look racially ambiguous either. Mixed/bi-racial people have their own experiences and it is not their goal to infringe upon or offend either side, yet are often treated as if that’s what they are doing simply by claiming all of what makes them up. #mixed #biracial #native #nativeamerican #mixednative
