But people are also failing themselves thinking they will be fixed whatever they do to themselves most of the people in the NHS are awesome but the system is obviously being mismanaged consistently

Hi Hanna. Good post. I was diagnosed with cancer Jan 2023. Cutting a very long story short I can’t complain too much. I spent a lot of time in 4 different hospitals. All the staff are run off their feet and divided between those who are exceptional, those who try really hard and a small group who are incompetent and/or lazy. My biggest gripe is that, in retrospect, when I was told I had cancer I went into this kind of mental fog and accepted events without questioning. It’s only now as I’m am coming out of the fog I can see much clearer and disappointed that I didn’t get enough specific information and incorrect diagnosis of my numerous side effects. AND, I got discharged (thrown out) from hospital twice when I was still ill. However, my wonderful GP and a couple of different consultants and surgeons did save my life.

I have severe dizziness that leads to blackouts. was referred to ent over a year ago (with no other investigation) and have had my entire app cancelled 3 times with no new appointment. I have gone back to my Dr's at least 6 times about this and they just tell me to wait.

i could tell you shocking stories about the NHS. even my dad who is the most pro-NHS person I've ever met, is complaining about medical negligence after his cancer diagnosis in November, the way he has been treated is unbelievable!

Still a lottery getting to see a GP, can sometimes get in with a nurse practitioner, non urgent blood tests/X-rays have to be booked up to six weeks in advance, when you used to able to get them same or next day, specialist appointments are like hens teeth. I was in agony with my shoulder, had to book a med review to get strong painkillers, 7wks it took, X-ray was booked, it took over 5 weeks. Next door neighbour has after 4 years been finally diagnosed with Endometriosis, My daughter had to wait 11 months to see a sleep therapist,also has had to wait 4 months for an MRI scan, the NHS is on its knees and Government figures are SKEWED, as nothing they say is getting better, is actually getting better...

I'd rather pay £50 a month to be able to be seen or treated when I need it. my daughter developed epilepsy, her meds need increasing as she's having more frequent seizures, doctor can't do it, but she can't speak to anyone at the hospital to get help and she works for the NHS 🙄

I work for the NHS, the public is being gaslighted being told funding is at its highest, yet we on the frontline are being forced with huge budget cuts since this government came into power, and more services going out to private health care providers

The waiting lists are so long because so many people use it from outside of the UK 😡 Stop that from happening and the waiting time will decrease dramaticly.

Even before Covid it was crap! Nurses left my late mum sat on a commode for over 20 mins .. I had to clean her up and help her back into the bed 😏. She passed away in a supposedly top hospital in the south east area 🥺
