Tbh there's something nowadays that helps called Agriculture Rights Buyout that deadlock's the land nowadays so it can't be developed. However many buildings on the land when this is done though is the only amount of buildings that can be on it.

This is why I hope once I'm done with the complex design I'm making I can patent it quickly. It's a whole concept built around conservation and self sustainability on land that is otherwise abandoned while not displacing current residents. Think 15 minute city with a geological regeneration twist. It preserves neighborhoods and helps bring back nature. 🥰
