unfortunately, a huge Swatch of the population has completely lost touch with what minimum wage is meant to be. It was never meant to be an alternative minimum pay for teenagers, and people just entering the workforce. It was meant to provide a living wage. enough for housing, food, transportation, clothing, and a little bit left over to have some fun and go on vacation. those were the stated goals of the minimum wage when it was introduced.

Everything costs less in America, Like Australia perhaps move out of major cities to more affordable areas, Unfortunately while everyone wants to live in major cities it pushes demand for properties and prices for properties up as demand grows

I was in hospital in Australia for 2 weeks, acute care, personal nurse, food with a menu each day. it cost the government 100k, I only had to pay for the uber home. 😅

I’m in Texas and minimum wage is $7.25 an hour.. at 40 a week, that’s $1160. But my rent is $1300.. the math ain’t mathing

Also we should be getting more than required to survive. We should want more. I don't want to make just enough to have to constantly worry about an emergency draining my meager saving or bankrupting me because I have no savings. I don't want to have to make every vacation a staycation because I literally can't afford to drive to the next state over for a few days.

You are correct. Shareholder profit is the priority. Look what Pepsi did with pricing. Doritos reach $7 a bag. Hershey removed chocolate from their products to make more money. No care for the actual quality of the products.
