I massively disagree with this take. I've played most of the souls games and enjoy them but I see zero issue with making an easy mode. makes it accessible to more players who just want to enjoy the story. it doesn't affect you and me at all. if the entire premise of the game is that its hard then its a bad game. these games have more to them than that.

Dude, it took me 40 tries to beat Margaret because that was the first souls game I ever played and I never complained because I didn’t care. It’s just a genuine skill issue.

honestly it does ruin the experiance for example in lies of p where if you are struggling you can just turn down the difficulty instead of learning the boss

I am terrible at Souls games. But I've beaten them all after an embarrassing amount of time and death. Miyazaki is 100% correct about the sense of satisfaction when you overcome the challenge.

Elden Ring is by far the easiest souls game. Boss too hard? Go explore and level up and come back stronger. Spam broken spells and weapon arts and 300+ summons, and not even properly downscaled human players.
