Bro DO NOT FINNACE. Unless you have a stable job and have at least 5k saved for the payments. Yes it builds your credit. But he doesn’t account for maintenance, and car insurance. It being you first car and you finance it means that the car payments are gonna be at least 300 a month plus insurance and anything else that you have to get done to it.

100% agree, especially if you buy a cash car you won’t have any credit history so you still run risk of getting higher percent on interest even after older age. I would recommend to take a decent loan an amount you know you can afford like 10-15k so later on it’s easier to get approved for a even better car.

No, avoid car payments at any cost, saving money is far more valuable than people think, you can build credit in many other ways

i agree, i kept getting told don’t finance by EVERYONE around me so i listened, dropped 6k on a cash car that now has a blown head gasket and i have to start over again, but this time im going to finance, i’d rather have my money going to something reliable and will benefit me in the end!

if that makes you sleep well a night, cool. but getting on a 20k debt for a vehicle that will decrease its value as soon as you get it out of the lot is not a good decision at all, especially if you’re young

Finance a 3-4 year old used vehicle. Make additional payments and pay it off early. It will have a bunch of life left in it.

It does build credit, but not enough to justify paying high interest. You're paying interest on a depreciating asset, so you're losing on both ends. There are cheaper ways to build credit without taking that hit. Credit mix is only 10% of your credit. So paying cash is sometimes better depending on your debt to income ratio!

I agree low key. Take out manageable loans like 10k. Pay for over 50% of the car down tho
